Custom Theme
Continuing my theme of spend-more-time-playing-with-blog-software-instead-of-writing-blog-posts I’ve spent a few hours over the last few weekends creating a custom Mephisto theme called Blue Rocket.
This was a great exercise in learning liquid, as well as getting a better handle on the guts of Mephisto. I hope to apply these skills towards some future projects that I’m working on.

Looks good man, are you gonna release your theme open source?
one thing though, the search box isn’t super intuitive, you might want to have an indication that it’s a search box. (it could read search… until the user clicks on the box and the field get blanks… or whatever…)

Carlos: Good to see you’re still alive! You should come to the Rails meeting on Tuesday, I’m going to be talking about Merb.
Matt A: I will opensource it after a while, part of the reason for doing this though was so I could have a unique theme. Thanks for the tip about the search, it should be in there now.

Yeah, I know I have been very busy the past 6 months, with family, work, consulting, and open source projects, my blog is running on my new Python open source project called Calabro. I have been doing a lot work with Python and have to say that I love the language. It is very fast and there is a ton of modules to interface with just about anything. Anyway, I will try to make it I would love to hear more about Merb.
Peace
